that’s the way it is with denoise. Especially in KS. The slider is just an opacity blend for the denoised layer. I rarerly use the denoiser in KS, its sorta like a sledgehammer. it either works really well or it wrecks everything. I use Topaz products here at work, and those work really well. Otherwise Photoshop has some denoising tools built in that work better than the KS built in ones. You can also let the render bake for a long time in the renderer. How many samples are you rendering at?
